AN award-winning Southampton restaurant is donating food to hospital staff during the coronavirus pandemic.

Kuti’s Brasseri has been continuing to support staff at the University Hospital Southampton (UHS) by cooking and delivering meals to the hardworking staff at the hospital.

The restaurant, which was crowned the Best Spice Restaurant in the South East at the British Curry Awards last November, has worked with the hospital for more than 30 years, and has continued to support it during the pandemic.

Now, Kuti’s is aiming to donate food to the UHS every week to help and support staff with a hot meal during their long shifts.

Eugene Broderick of Blaze Construction and Patrick Trant of Trant Engineering donated £5,000 to the restaurant after they heard about the restaurant’s effort to support NHS workers.

The money will be used to go towards the costs of making and delivering food to the hospital, with strict consideration of social distancing and health and safety protocols in place.

Now, the restaurant is urging other local businesses, if they are able to, to support the UHS staff by providing them with food or essentials.

Kuti’s is also appealing to individuals who are looking to help the NHS and is asking anyone who would like to make a donation to get in touch with themselves, or other businesses.
